Hi, I’m Rosie—host of What Does Your Family Look Like?, and living proof that you’re never too old to reinvent yourself. I launched this podcast at the ripe young age of 66, after a lifetime of navigating what “family” really means—and realizing there’s no one-size-fits-all version.
Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, I’m the baby of three, but with a big age gap that basically made me an only child with extra siblings. I grew up in the kind of neighborhood where everyone knew your name, your business, and whether your bike was left on the sidewalk too long. Think: ‘50s innocence with a side of grilled cheese.
I spent years wrestling with the unspoken expectations placed on women without biological children, and it wasn’t until I wrote—and cried—my way through that experience that I found healing. And wouldn’t you know it? That’s when this podcast was born.
I’ve been married to my wonderful husband Tony for 40 years (yes, 15 years my senior—age is just a number and sometimes I have a hard time keeping up with him!). I married into a ready-made family with two incredible stepsons, and now we’re lucky enough to have four grandchildren who’ve stolen our hearts—and most of our free time. It's been a glorious journey.
This podcast started with my voice and my story. Then I realized: we all have stories about family—beautiful, messy, unconventional, hilarious, and healing. Now I invite others to share theirs, because let’s face it—“family” doesn’t always look the way we thought it would. And that’s kind of the point.

Hey there, I’m Eliza! A native of Baltimore, MD, I circled the globe for many years before returning right back to where I started. Along the way, I lived in Baja California Sur, Mexico - studying whales & sea turtles, and learning Spanish from my Mexican fishermen friends. Now, I curse like a sailor in 2 languages! I met my husband, Matt, while we were both attending UCLA Law. He’s a hot surfer from Santa Monica, CA and I PROMISED him that I’d never want to move back East. And here we are… living in Baltimore for the last 20 years. Before becoming a professional podcaster, I was a conservation lawyer who represented nonprofit organizations suing polluters under the Clean Water Act. Matt and I made 2 amazing sons, Sam and Nick and family is everything to me. That being said, living in a household with 3 male humans and a male dog leaves me yearning to connect with the ladies. So, welcome to the conversation. I’m here for ALL of it!
